Travel Tips / Essential Information For Port Blair:

  • Permits Required: All visitors need to obtain an entry permit. Indian tourists get it on arrival. There’s a minimal entry fee charged for visiting some attractions and islands or protected areas while foreign nationals must apply in advance through proper channels, and they might have to pay higher entry fees compared to Indian visitors
  • Best Time to Visit: October to May offers perfect weather conditions. If you’re planning Andaman honeymoon packages, December to February provides the most romantic surroundings.
  • Accommodation Tips: Book accommodations in advance, especially during peak season (December-January). Areas near Aberdeen Bazaar and Marine Hill have good connectivity.
  • Pack Smart:

    -Try local seafood but stick to well-established restaurants. Many restaurants around Aberdeen Bazaar serve excellent South Indian and Bengali cuisine, but the main food of the region is seafood.

    -Only BSNL and Airtel work consistently. Download offline maps before arrival.
  • Currency:
    -Carry enough cash as ATMs are limited and might run out of cash during peak tourist season.
