Overview of Jatayu Earth Center:

Located at the Jatayupara hills in Kerala, the Jatayu Earth Center is basically a tribute to the mythological bird god Jatayu from the Ramayana. This huge sculpture, crafted by filmmaker and sculptor Rajiv Anchal, took over 10 years to complete and opened to the public in 2018. Jatayu Earth Centre features the world’s largest bird sculpture, measuring 200 feet long, 150 feet wide, and 70 feet tall. What makes it even more special is that it’s not just a sculpture – it’s actually a building you can enter!

The place gets its name from the vulture king Jatayu, who fought against Ravana to save Goddess Sita. According to legend, this is the exact spot where the injured Jatayu fell, and Lord Rama later blessed him. Today, this amazing spot has become one of Kerala’s most popular tourist attractions. You’ll find it included in many Kerala Tour Packages, and it’s easy to see why – with its cable car rides, adventure activities, and stunning views of the surrounding hills, it is a must-visit.
