Overview of Bali Zoo:

While all the best Bali tour packages focus on beaches and temples, don’t miss out on the incredible Bali Zoo experience. The zoo is a place where you can get up close with some of Indonesia’s most fascinating creatures.

Fun fact: it started as a private collection of birds and grew into what it is today! The zoo played a crucial role during the 2017 Mount Agung eruption, providing shelter to numerous displaced animals. What makes this place special is its commitment to conservation – they’ve successfully bred several endangered species, including the Bali Mynah, a bird found nowhere else in the world. The zoo also runs a unique breakfast experience with orangutans(primates), something you won’t find at many other places!

What are the Key Highlights of  Bali Zoo:

  • Night Zoo: Night at the Zoo Program lets you explore after dark when many animals are most active. If you’re lucky, you might catch the feeding time of nocturnal predators – definitely a highlight of many Bali tour packages!
  • Elephants in Mud: Elephant Mud Fun experience puts you right in the action with elephants. You’ll get to help bathe them, and feed them, and yes – you might get a bit muddy, but that’s part of the fun!
  • Animal Feeding: Animal Feeding Sessions happen throughout the day with various species. The keepers share stories about each animal’s personality and habits. The crocodile feeding session is particularly thrilling.
  • Meet Tigers: The Tiger Encounter Program offers a controlled environment where you can observe these magnificent cats. The zoo’s Bengal tigers are particularly active during morning hours.
  • Close Interactions: The Petting Zoo Area is perfect for families with kids. You can cuddle with rabbits, feed deer, and interact with friendly farm animals. The zoo staff is always around to ensure both animals and visitors are comfortable.
